Fun in the Water

We got Brady's small pool out and put his slide in it so he could have some fun in the water at home. He couldn't wait until he had his trunks on and decided to just get in. But he had fun so I guess that's all that counts!

Like Father, Like Son

Anyone that knows Andy knows that he is somewhat obsessed with keeping cars clean...he washes both our vehicles very frequently and does a great job keeping them looking nice! Recently, he's had a little helper with the hose who also wants to keep his car looking good too!!!

Brady's Favorites

I thought I'd update you on a few of Brady's favorite things!
1. His favorite show to watch is Caillou on PBS...Aghh! Mommy and Daddy aren't big fans but it is the only thing that will keep his attention for very long. I think the cartoon is out of Canada and that little boy sure can be whiney...oh well!



2. His favorite 'treat' or 'snack' is Nutrigrain bars and strawberries right now. I wish I could say that he loves veggies but the only veggies he'll eat is broccoli (strange...).


3. All things Cars...he is infatuated with cars and thinks they're all 'Police cars'...whenever we see a car he'll say 'Police car Ma'...he also likes to see lots of semi trucks when we're driving. He always wants to see more 'big trucks' as he likes to call them.


4. His all-time favorite thing to do is be OUTSIDE! He would spend all day and all night outside if he could. He cries when he has to come in and is always looking out the door/window to go outside. He burns off lots of energy so that's a good thing! He loves his swingset and wants us to push him as high as we can.

5. Milk. The kid could drink a gallon a day if we let him. He only likes milk or water (we don't give him juice or anything else to drink...he's never liked it plus I don't like how much sugar there is in juice). He is constantly saying 'More Milk Ma'. :-)

Farmer's Market

On Saturday morning we headed downtown for the Farmer's Market. I love going and we've always had a great time when we do and wonder why we don't go more often. Brady enjoyed seeing all the dogs there and people watching (and eating some yummy treats). It was a great way to start our weekend!

Oh Those Cathcart Boys...

Brady had so much fun playing with Jaxson and Holden at the wedding on Saturday...those 3 are a handful! They played in the fountain, posed for some pictures, toasted 'Cheers' with the water glasses and pretty much ran all around the venue. It will be very fun to watch them grow up!

Family Wedding

On Saturday we had another wedding!!! This would be #4 so far this summer but I love going to weddings, they're so much fun! Brock, Andy's cousin was the lucky groom this weekend. We only went to the reception because Brady doesn't do well sitting through a ceremony and we don't want to be 'those people' with 'that kid' that disrupts a big day for the couple. The reception was in Carroll at the Santa Maria Winery and one word sums the place up---WOW! It's a beautiful place and I must say that their peach wine is my new favorite! We had a wonderful dinner, yummy cake, got to catch up with family and enjoy Brock and Danni's day. We had lots of fun and we all got to sleep in a little the next day!

Happy Father's Day!

I hope all you Father's out there get a special day today! I am so lucky to have 3 wonderful fathers in my life...Andy who is an amazing daddy to Brady, my father Tony and my FIL Steve. I'm so blessed that Brady has 3 strong men to look up to and if he turns out even a little like them, he will be an amazing man one day too.
Andy--you are such a great daddy to Brady and I'm so thankful that he has you. Love you!

Semi-Wordless Wednesday

Someone is a bit of a messy eater...

Cookies & Cream Oreo Cupcakes

We had a great weekend! We went to the wedding reception of some friends (Heath and Stacey) and were able to catch up with some good friends and have a great time! On Sunday I wanted to do some baking so I decided to try the recipe I found for Cookies and Cream Oreo cupcakes...they are really good! They taste just like cookies 'n cream ice cream! Yummo!


For the Cupcakes:
1 box white cake mix
1 pkg Doubles Stuff Oreos
*Make cake batter according to package; Set aside.
Twist apart 24 Oreos
Place the wafer with filling on it, (filling side up) in the bottom of each cupcake paper liner (set aside the other halves of the Oreos...you will use them later for the frosting). Then, with the remaining FULL Oreos in the package, put them in a ziplock bag and use a rolling pin to crush them up.
Fold the Oreos into the cake batter
Fill cupcake liners 3/4 full and bake according to cake mix directions.
Once cooked, let fully cool before frosting!

For the Frosting:
1 pkg Cream cheese (room temp)
1 stick of butter (room temp)
4 cups Powdered Sugar
1/4 cup Whipping Cream (milk will work fine too)
1 TBSP vanilla
24 Oreo halves (that you set aside)
Mix together the cream cheese and butter...then add in the powdered sugar, whipping cream and vanilla. Frost each cupcake and then crush up remaining Oreo halves and sprinkel on top. Enjoy!

Big Boy Bed!

This was an exciting weekend for Brady. He got to sleep in his big-boy bed for the first time! We had bought a trundle bed for him a few months back but knew he just wasn't quite ready at that time and I'm not about to push him into something he isn't ready for. But we felt the time was right this weekend. We went with a trundle bed because our 2nd and 3rd bedrooms are kind of small and the trundle will give us the option to store stuff in it until it's time to put a mattress in there (for friends sleeping over, etc). He was a little indifferent about it at first but once he saw his new bedding had cars and 'big trucks' on there, he was pretty excited. I, on the other hand am somewhat sad as my little boy is growing up way too fast!

Aghh!!! I have no idea how many times we have to get after him a day to stop picking his nose!!!

Family Vacation!

We headed up to the Wisconsin Dells early Sunday morning for a family-fun vacation! We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and had an amazing time! The resort has 4 indoor and 4 outdoor water parks. They also had tons other things you could do there, golfing, restaurants, we walked around the Dells area and hit up some shopping, etc. We were so lucky and had picture perfect weather...in the 90s and sunny! So we spent 3 full days taking in the sun, playing in the water, taking walks and enjoying family time together. Brady loved the water and going downt he slides, etc. He preferred the outdoor parks to the indoor ones which was just fine with me since we could get some good sun! Bed time was a little interesting since he goes to bed around 8 but we had a suite that had a partition so it wasn't so bad. Andy had a ton of fun going down some of the big slides (which there were a lot of). We had a great time and are already discussing when we could go back! Now here is an overload of pictures!
