Cancun!!!!

We got back from Cancun yesterday. We had such a great time! We left on Monday and due to the weather here in DSM our flight out of DSM was delayed by over an hour and since we originally only had 1 hour between flights, we missed our connecting flight in Dallas. But we were lucky and they got us on the next flight. We arrived at our resort around 3 p.m. in Cancun and it didn't take us long to get to the pool! Our resort was nice and we did have to switch rooms but it turned out to be a good thing cuz we were given a much nicer room! On Tuesday the sun was shining most of the day but it was really windy. We were at the pool pretty much all day long and then went for a nice dinner at the resort. Wednesday brought some less than ideal weather, it was windy, chilly and the sun didn't shine at all...so we decided to head into town. We did a little browsing and shopping and then headed back to the resort. We then napped by the pool while being wrapped in towels...it was fun though. Thursday brought perfect weather!!! It was sunny and warm and we stayed by the pool all day long again. It was great! There was a Mr. Solaris (the name of our resort) contest and we made all 3 boys sign up for it. They had to do a little dance, push-ups, poses, etc it was hilarious!!! Bryce ended up getting 3rd place and Andy won! Ha ha ha! Too Funny! After a long day in the sun (where we all got a little burnt) we headed to dinner for the last time at the resort. We were all wiped out and headed to bed early to get ready for our flight back home early Friday morning. We all really enjoyed the resort (especially the drinks, dinners, entertainment and just having fun with our friends). We had a pretty uneventful trip back to DSM. We did have some pretty tough turbulance on the flight from Dallas to DSM and it made most of us sick to our stomachs but we survived! We had such an amazing time!!! We vowed that we will make this a yearly trip, it was a great get-a-way especially given how rough this winter has been.
We did miss Brady a ton! He spent time with my parents and Andy's. I know he had so much fun with his grandparents. Luckily Kris was able to bring Brady home to us shortly after we got home. It was great to see him! Below are some pics...I wasn't able to put captions on them but will try to do so later!

Pure Fun!

I had been meaning to do a collage post of Brady's 1st year but I saw this neat scrapbook feature (complete with music) that seemed really fun so I thought I'd try it! Check it out!

Cancun!!!

Bright and early tomorrow morning we leave for Cancun for 5 days! We are SO excited to go. We are really looking forward to getting away from this Iowa winter. We will miss Brady but he will be having so much fun with his grandparents and I know they're excited to have him come stay with them.
Yesterday Jenn, Meggie and I got pedicures to get our feet sandal ready and then did some shopping to pick up some odds and ends for the trip.
I will post pics when we get back!!!!

Happy 30th Birthday Andrew Joseph!

On Sunday, Andy entered the 30's! I've been waiting the past 4 1/2 months for him to join me! Happy Birthday honey, hope you had a great day!!!!
On Saturday night we had a little mini-family celebration. I made a nice dinner for the 3 of us and we were able to have a great night as a family.
On Sunday we met Kris, Steve, Brad, Steph, Jaxson and Holden at Andy's favorite Famous Dave's for lunch to celebrate both Andy's birthday on the 10th and Steve's on the 11th. After lunch we all headed to our house for some awesome cake and ice cream. It was fun to have everyone together and have all 3 Cathcart kiddos together. Brady and Jaxson were as entertaining as always. It was great to watch them play together.

Brady's new favorite toy...we got it for him for his birthday...it is so funny to watch him on it!

Playtime and Nephew Fun!

A couple weekends ago we decided to take Brady to the play area at Jordan Creek again. Andy hadn't had the opportunity to see Brady in action and to see how much fun he had. He had a ton of fun again and got to play with daddy this time, which he loved! We also stopped by to take some clothes and food to Brad and Steph. They had a full house of visitors! It was great to see Holden again and to have Brady and Jaxson play together.

Up to Speed

I have been a little slow updating the blog lately...I will try to do better, promise! We have had some pretty low key week days and some fun weekends...I will post more but had to share these pics of Brady...he gets the worst bed head, it is SO funny...here are some pics after a nap last week...he gets this from his mommy, my hair does the same things!

You can't totally see his hair all sticking up, but it is!

Our New Nephew--Holden Winter Cathcart

On Wednesday, December 30th the Cathcart family expanded. Holden Winter was born at 9:29 p.m. weighing in at 6lbs 15 oz. He is just a little peanut. We were able to go to the hospital Thursday morning to see the little guy. He is a cutie pie! So little with some dark hair and long fingers! We are so happy for Brad and Steph (and now Jaxson is a big brother!).
It was a baby boom day on Wedneday as my good friend Abby also had her little boy the same day. Rylen Carver Peters was born (I need to get more info from her on his weight/length, etc). What a blessed way to finish up 2009!

Fun at the Mall!

On Thursday, Jenn and I decided to get the boys out of the house and go to the mall to play in the mall playground. We did a little shopping first and then let the boys loose! They had SO much fun! Brady was going 100 miles an hour...he was all over the place, climbing on everything and loved the slide!

Going down the slide--Mommy, I LOVE this!

Trying to get all 3 for a pic! They were having too much fun playing that they didn't want to sit still for a picture!

Fun at Nana and Papa's

On Tuesday, Andy and Brady headed up to Gowrie to see Nana and Papa. I was able to get some things done that I needed to and was able to relax a little. Here are some photos from their trip!

He is not afraid at all...something tells me we will have to get a dog someday...
