Last Single Night Out!!

Saturday night was Kayla's big Bachelorette party! Unfortunately I wasn't able to be there the whole time since Brady was sick. But mom and I were able to go to TJ's in Exira and be with her and the rest of the ladies before they went on the party bus around SW Iowa. She got some great gifts (and some gag ones too!), there was good appetizers and a couple drinks. Everyone looked so good in their black and Kayla had on such a cute dress (plus all the 'bride' accessories). We're very excited for her and Nick's big day and are excited for her to join the family!

Easter, cont...

When we got back on Sunday we put Brady down for a nap, hid some eggs for him and gave him his Easter basket. He had lots of fun finding the eggs!

We headed back to Kimballton for Easter (and for Kayla's bachelorette party which I'll post on later). Brady had a pretty high fever all day on Saturday so we didn't get to all of the egg hunts I was hoping for but mom and dad put some eggs out on their deck for Brady to find. Every time he found an egg he would proudly proclaim "I got it!". We did go up to the church in town for the kiddie hunt and luckily it was only for a few minutes. He got some candy and then we left...later that day he and Andy headed up to my grandma's for an Easter celebration while my mom and I headed to Exira for Kayla's bachelorette party. Then on Sunday, Brady still wasn't feeling so good so we weren't able to go to church. We headed to Scott and Jana's for brunch and he and Taryn had an Easter egg hunt practically to themselves...it was really cute...here are some pics!

We had an amazing weekend! This weekend was all about Travis and Nicole's big wedding day! Nicole is my cousin and I had the honor of being a bridesmaid in her wedding. We started off the weekend with the rehearsal on Friday followed by a delicious dinner at my favorite place of all time--The Danish Inn. This place has big roots for Nicole and I...we both worked there for 6-7 years through high school and summers in college. It is an amazing restaurant! Then the big day was here! All of us girls got our hair done and were able to relax, eat some snacks and get ready...then it was time to get Nicole in her dress, take pics and walk down the aisle. To say Nicole was a stunning bride would be a HUGE understatement! We had a great time at the wedding and reception. Who wouldn't love great food, fun, dancing, yummy cake and being around such great family and friends. Their day was amazing and Nicole did such a great job with everything! We wish them a life full of happiness and were so honored to be included in their special day!

Brady is spending a couple days with Nana and Papa Cathcart. His daycare is taking a day off so Brady gets to play with Nana and Papa...we miss him but know he's having a lot of fun!



This pic was taken one night after an accident at daycare...he fell off a trike and used his face to break his fall...poor guy!

Boys will be boys!

While Andy and Bryce were putting the playset together, Luke and Brady got to play together all day (with many thanks to Meggie who watched both boys while I met my mom for dress shopping). These two play so well together! They had lots of fun and Brady went to sleep so easily that night!


Brady couldn't figure out how to 'push' the pedal with his foot. When we'd show him how to do it, by pushing his foot down with our hands, he would then use his hand to push his foot down. Silly boy!

New Toy!

Brady got a brand new toy this weekend! Andy and our neighbor Bryce put together a play system for Brady. To say he loves it is an uderstatement. It took the boys all day to put it together but it was well worth it. I pushed Brady on his glider for at least an hour straight this morning (Sunday)...He is going to get lots of fun out of this!

Sunday Funday!

On Sunday we had a great family fun day. We started the morning off with a walk. It was so nice outside that we thought we should really try to soak it all up all day long! We thought it would be fun to grab some sandwiches, head to a park, have a picnic and let Brady play. It was a lot of fun! Unfortunately for Brady we had to leave after an hour or so because it was nap time...we had one very unhappy 2-year old!

Now that's a bite!

We went for a picnic on Sunday and Brady was eating his sub like a pro! ha ha!
