Poor Mason

On Wednesday Mason had a bad fall at daycare.  He got himself in to a tub with toys (he had been taken out of it a time or two before the incident) and he was trying to get out when our daycare provider was coming over to get him out (he knew he wasn't supposed to be in there) and he stepped out and onto a Mega block Lego and must have fallen at the right angle.  I knew it was serious when I went to pick him up and he didn't come running to me, he always does that.  He wouldn't put weight on his leg so I took him to Urgent Care.  After a lot of crying and holding him down for X-Rays, they said it wasn't good, put a temporary cast (past his knee) and told us we'd need to see the Orthopedic Specialist the next day.
It was a LONG 18 hours before getting in to the Orthopedic Specialist.  Long story short, he has a fractured/cracked Tibia.  Luckily he is able to have a below-the-knee cast.  So he'll be rocking his cast for the next 4 weeks...he will get it off the day before our family pics--good timing! :-)
He is handling it pretty well but he's just so frustrated that he can't go, go, go!  He does have a 'walking cast' so when he's ready, he can walk with it on, thank goodness!

A few hours after the accident

Getting ready to see the Orthopedic Specialist

His permanent cast.  He actually has an orange cast but they cut 2 slits in it to allow for swelling so it is wrapped in an ACE bandage.
