Fun Weekend!

We've had a very fun weekend with one big first...our first night without Brady. More on that later, but first on Friday we headed over to the Leslie's to see their new addition Gavin. He is such a cutie and his big sister Taylor gets cuter by the day too! Gavin is already over 6 weeks old but we have been plagued with colds and flu so weren't able to see him until this weekend. We had some pizza and got to catch up with them. Then on Saturday I ran my first post-baby race. I did the Drake Relays 8K and I was pretty happy with how the race went and my time. After the race we had to run Brady up to Gowrie so he could spend the night with Grandma and Grandpa Cathcart while Andy and I went to the Barnstormers arena football game with our good friends. It was hard to leave him but we did have a great time with Jon, Jen, Bryce and Meggie. The night was full of laughs and Andy and I got a wonderful night's sleep. I just wish I could say the same for Grandma Cathcart. :-) So today we met Steve and Kris in Ames at Hickory Park for lunch to pick up Brady. It was so good to see him, we really missed him but were glad that we were able to have a night out!

Jumper-Rooooo!!!!!

We had a pretty good weekend. I think we're finally all over the nasty colds we got. Brady had his first cold and we had a couple rough nights last week but he's much better now. On Friday Andy and I both had short days at work so we were able to take advantage of the nice weather and we ran some errands, etc and then had dinner at our favorite, Taki. It was sooo yummy! After dinner we headed over to Brad and Stephs to drop off an Easter basket for Jaxson and to pick up a Jumper-Roo for Brady. He is so stinkin funny in the jumper-roo! He bounces up and down and just laughs the whole time! Then on Saturday we had the Waters and Dillingers over for a grill out and to get all the kiddos together. Unfortunately I didn't take any pics! On Sunday we had a lounge day and worked on getting over our colds. So we got some rest and relaxed.

4 Month Check-up

Brady had his 4 month check up this morning. To no one's surprise, he is off the charts! 18.8 lbs (100th percentile), 26 3/4" long (95th percentile). He is one HEALTHY boy!! Ha ha ha! We just don't know where he gets it from! He did have to have 4 shots and he did soooo good! He only cried as the shots were given and once mommy picked him up, he was just fine. He hasn't been all that fussy today either. We can't wait to start incorporating more foods into his diet in a few weeks!

Happy Easter

We hope everyone had a great Easter. We had a lot of fun this past weekend and Brady got more than spoiled! We headed back to Kimballton on Saturday morning. Andy and my dad took advantage of the weather and did some fishing while mom, Brady and I ran some errands and hung out. Later that afternoon we headed up to my Grandma Parker's townhouse for the Parker Easter. It was great to see all of them as I think it was Christmas the last time we all got together. Then on Sunday we had a wonderful breakfast/brunch for the Petersen side at Scott and Jana's. We got to see Taryn my new baby cousin that is only 2 months younger than Brady. I have a feeling that they'll be more like cousins than we will since there is 29 years age difference...gotta love big families! :-) Of course Brady looks much older than her. She is a doll! After we got back to Ankeny, Kris and Steve stopped down to see us. Brady must have been good to the Easter Bunny because he got soooo much stuff! Here are some pics from the weekend:

4 Months Old!!!

Our baby is 4 months old today! We can't believe he is already 4 months old. The time has just flown by and it's been the best 4 months!!! He is growing and doing new things everyday. He has his 4 month check-up next Monday so we'll see how big he's gotten. Unfortunately he will have to have more shots :(.

Rice Cereal

Tonight we tried rice cereal for the first time. It went about as well as I thought it would. He pretty much stared at me with a look on his face saying "Mom, what IS this junk you're making me choke down?" He spit quite a bit of it out and had some funny looks for us. We were able to get it on video. We'll just keep trying it!

"I don't know about this mom"
"Ummm...I'm just going to spit this out now"

Spring??

We had a good rest of our weekend. On Saturday I met my friend Mollie for a training run for our half marathon in April. Then when I got home we decided that we needed to get out and about as we knew the weather on Sunday was going to be nasty and we'd be cooped up inside all day. So we ran some errands and tried to stay out of the house as much as we could. Originally we were planning on having Brady's baptism on Sunday but there were too many factors acting against us. Chris and Jessica (2 of Brady's sponsors) were unable to come and the weather was going to limit who could come. I wanted everyone to be there for Brady so we moved it to May 3rd. Hopefully the weather will cooperate more on that date. Here are some random pics from the weekend:

Exciting News!

We have some exciting news on the Petersen side. My brother Chris and his wife Jessica welcomed a beautiful baby girl on Tuesday. Cadence Marie was 5lbs 11 oz and 18 3/4" long. She is just a tiny little peanut, but sooo cute! It was so weird to hold her after holding Brady, she's just so tiny! On Friday Andy, Brady and I went down to meet the new addition and putting the two cousins together side by side was pretty funny, Brady is just so much bigger!

Cousins!

Side by side--too cute!!!
